OLD CITY OF ALBI The

The historical centre
possesses so many architectural interests that it is now part of
the French sites which are able to be proposed by France to the
inscription of the World Heritage List (Unesco, see
the list).
More than Toulouse, Albi is
worth being nicknamed the "pink city" ; the brick is the
main material used in the construction and let a very charming
souvenir to visitors.

Some places to see :
- the garden of Toulouse-Lautrec Museum, planted at the end of the
17th century, offers a view of the river Tarn
- the mansions : Decazes, Reynès
(early 16th century), Enjalbert house (superb half-timbered house
with carved beams), native house of Lautrec (facade)...
- St. Salvy church, dedicated to the first bishop of Albi, with a
beautiful cloister
- the attractive Castelviel district, where one have a good view
of the cathedral
- Rue Mariès (shopping street) and Vigan Square, centre of Albi
today
